Jennifer Ampulski is the AVP, Life Sciences Segment Lead at Travelers. She is responsible for profitability, growth and strategic direction of life sciences underwriting. Life sciences companies often have complex operations requiring unique risk management solutions. Under her leadership, the life sciences underwriters are adept at applying innovative thinking on behalf of today's life sciences companies that do not easily fit into a box. The result: unique risk management solutions that work for all involved.
Previously, Jennifer was in leadership positions in life sciences and business torts claims. In claims, she was responsible for managing and resolving complex and high-value bodily injury, errors-and-omissions, third-party cyber, product recall and Coverage B claims involving Technology and Life Science accounts. She was also responsible for providing advice and counsel to internal business partners regarding litigation trends and legislative developments, strategic planning, new product development, training and marketing.
Before entering the insurance industry, Jennifer practiced law with the Minneapolis firm Meagher & Geer, P.L.L.P. She spent 11 years as a trial lawyer handling complex civil litigation, including mass torts, involving products liability, catastrophic loss and commercial matters. Jennifer's clients included Fortune 50 pharmaceutical and industrial manufacturers and distributors.
Jennifer was also an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota Law School, teaching appellate writing and advocacy, and was a coach for award-winning Civil Rights Moot Court competition teams.
Jennifer is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Minnesota School of Law (cum laude) and clerked for the Honorable Bruce D. Willis (Minnesota Court of Appeals) before entering private practice. She has appeared as a legal analyst on Minnesota Public Radio.
