Janice Brunner

Janice Brunner is Group General Counsel and Head of Civic Engagement at Travelers. Since joining Travelers in January 2020, Janice has led the team responsible for the development and launch of Citizen Travelers, a new, nonpartisan initiative to empower Travelers employees to take part in the civic life of their communities. Janice is also responsible for executing on other enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, as well as advising on securities, corporate governance and other legal matters.

Prior to joining Travelers, Janice was a member of the Public Company Advisory Practice group at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York City. In that role, she worked closely with Travelers as an outside legal adviser for many years, becoming very familiar with Travelers business and organization. Before joining the Public Company Advisory Group, Janice practiced at Davis Polk & Wardwell for over a decade advising clients on capital markets, M&A and credit transactions. Prior to starting her legal career, Janice practiced as a certified public accountant at one of the Big Four accounting firms.
